The Need is Great
Forests are critical to our air and water quality, as well as quality of life. Colorado forests supply water to over 40 million people and five million acres of agriculture and bring in six million dollars per day in tourism. But climate change, drought, insects, wildfire, and other human-induced disturbances are wiping out our forests and reducing their ability to regenerate on their own. In Colorado alone, there’s over three million acres of reforestation potential but the capacity of the largest tree producers is only able to meet 20% of the need.
Our goal is to be the largest producer of native plants for reforestation in the Rocky Mountains, operating in all areas of the reforestation pipeline by 2027.
WE ARE: a leader in seedling production for nonprofits, government entities, and other groups working in conservation.
WE GROW: native plants for reforestation and restoration efforts in the Rocky Mountain Region.
WE ENGAGE: with our community through volunteer and educational opportunities.
The Time is Now
OneCanopy was founded in northern Colorado, present to witness large-scale deforestation in real time. We’re currently focused on addressing these issues in our own backyard by growing native plants for reforestation and restoration efforts in the Rocky Mountain Region.
As a social enterprise, we put people and the planet ahead of profit. The profit we produce is reinvested into the nursery to grow 500,000 to one million plants annually for reforestation.
